Been busy around here. I was hoping summer would be a breeze...not quite. Been a good one thus far, but, not a time to kick back and enjoy just piddling in the garden as I would love. I am getting some painting done...both art and art on the walls, though. Funny how it takes having a party at your house to get you to finish a mural. Anyway...these are just minor, minor things. But, you know, I look around at what is going on in the world and am constantly reminded how I have no right to complain about much of anything. I am lucky to have a wonderful family that supports me, wonderful friends that understand when I drop off the face of the earth for a bit only to return starving for talk of life. I don't have to worry about my house being blown up at any second. I can sleep at night...not worrying about if my husband will be coming home (well, other than the typical worrying over a car accident).

Yep, all you have to do is look around you to see how lucky we are to have what we have. Everyone is at a different place in their life...but, at least we have freedom here. Salute to our soldiers for striving everyday to withhold that freedom. And may our leaders find their sanity.

Had a nice visit with a friend yesterday. I truly hope that my boys didn't run him wragged, but we enjoyed having the pirate's company. I have been busy trying to put everything together for the gallery and my house. I need to do a late spring cleaning in my opinion...just find that hard to do with the kids around. And, since being gone, I have loads of weeding to do outside to catch up. We got a real good rain last night and it took one of my tomatoe cages down...must go fix that. Well, one of these days I will figure out how to get my images in this log. May just have to ask for help.

Must go clean my fur....purrrrrrr.

Just getting back from vacation. Very nice to get away...but, man...I am whooped! I have loads of images for painting and am all juiced up about it. Just got some work around here and then I hope to get rolling on the art again. OH, and a little work for the gallery I must get done today....but, otherwise, doing very well. Think I am more accustomed to the heat now...being in Florida's heat for a week will do that to ya. So, gotta go clean up the garden. Hope to post some images soon. OH, and I think my webmaster has updated my site with some of my latest work and some show images. Take a look if you get a chance.....

Okay...I am pretty psyched. I just finished a commission painting in record time! Yahoo! Wonderful! And, being the kind person that I am, I am reflecting this in the final payment. So, good and bad...not as much money, but, I couldn't in rightly charge her full price. Okay, maybe I am not the best businesswoman, but, anyway. Thought I would share my cheer with those who actually check the blog out. I have to see if I can get a good shot of the painting and put it on here for all to see. But, after this busy weekend is over with...and things settle down.

Well, I am off to bed to get some rest. I am pretty excited to get to bed before 3 am! =)

Okay, yes, it has been a long time a coming...but, I have been busy. I just had my opening on Cinco de Mayo....and, it went very well. I have sold almost half of my show and am very excited! I finished one piece just barely in time for the opening night. I still have to varnish it, yet. Anyway, I will be getting the new images to my site for all to view if curious at all. Go check it out sometime--www.kristizerull.com. Well, must go see if I can get going on another commission. Commissions are nice, don't get me wrong...just way less freedom.

Wow, what a busy time. I am now deep into preparing for a show in May. I got all excited today seeing my supplies coming in the mail. So much fun...like opening gifts. Anyway, it has been nice catching up with some of my buds online. Hope you all are having a swell time and beating all the bugs out there during the wonderful winter season. Ah, just had a vietnamese spring roll...homemade! I love this stuff! So many fresh herbs...and, I love the rice noodles in them. Anyway, I still live. I am loving the art scene. It brings me back to college days. I miss my old art buddies. It feels good to be exhibiting and talking with the art crowd here. Keeps the creative juices flowing and a sparkle in the eye. I am learning more about wine, too. =) It is a good feeling to recognize people now...before, I would drive around, walk around...whatever, in a zone. Okay, okay, to a certain point, I still do; but now I am finally starting to get to know people in a town I have lived in for over 10 years. Anyway, busy with commission works for Christmas, coming up with new pieces for the gallery and I guess I should be starting my line-up for my show in the spring. If I don't , I know I will regret it later.

Well, I have to say I am very relieved...my show's opening night was a hit! Yippee! The place was packed and I got some sales out of the night and the comedian and his group, Shrimprov were excellent! They have asked us to come back and do it all again. I am already booked for two more shows and have gotten some commissions coming in...crazy! I think my husband is getting excited...hoping he will be able to retire early. =) Yeah, right. Anyway...I did miss having some of my close buds there and some of my college buds, but, hey...I know, bad timing. Well, maybe next time. I will see if I can get a new jpg on here one of these days to show some of my latest work.

Gotta go for now, two portraits to do and filler pieces for the works sold. Take care!

Been more busy than I thought possible lately. Got my boys off to school this past week, conquered a cold...well, for the most part, doing double time to finish my last piece for my solo show coming up on Thursday...and, man, I know even in all of this turmoil that I am @#%!! lucky that I am not going through even a pint of what the poor people and animals are going through in the gulf. I pray that some kind of good will come out of this. Don't quite see what, but, as with everyone else I am sending what I can to help. Hope we all can find a way to help in any way possible.
